The purpose of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) group is to work in partnership with the rest of the organisation to provide digital technology and communication solutions that support excellence in policing and service delivery and enable Police's strategic ambitions.


With a primary hub in Wellington, and a presence throughout the country, we deliver new and enhanced solutions directly and through specialist vendor partnerships.

We provide expert advice on how technology can be leveraged to support Police's strategies and turn concepts into reality through collaborative development.


The Agile Coach has an expert level of understanding and experience in Agile theory and methodology and acts as a change catalyst to influence a positive difference in people's behaviours and mindset.

They use a range of techniques to keep initiatives on track, remove roadblocks and escalate problems.

ey Accountabilities:

  • Lead and support the organisation's Agile transformation journey by implementing and promoting Agile principles, practices, frameworks, and mindset.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, provide coaching and mentorship to Product teams and their leadership and other stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of Agile methodologies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by guiding teams to identify areas for growth, experimenting with new practices, and implementing changes to enhance team performance and efficiency.
  • Identify and eliminate impediments that hinder Product team progress, collaborating with teams and organisational leaders to create a supportive environment for Agile practices to flourish.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at various levels, including executives, to align Agile practices with business objectives. Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and mutual understanding.
  • Define, measure, and analyse key performance metrics to track Product team progress. Provide actionable feedback to teams and management based on datadriven insights, enabling informed decisionmaking and continuous growth.

  • Indepth knowledge of Agile principles, methodologies, and frameworks well versed in various approaches such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean and SAFe, and possess experience in implementing Agile practices in large complex environments.
  • Ability to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across a wide range of Product teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent relationship, facilitation, and communication skills ability to lead, influence and secure the right outcomes for our people in a highly complex environment
  • Proven experience in coaching, advising, mentoring, and building credibility across a range of stakeholders.
  • Success with defining relevant metrics, tracking progress, and proving meaningful and datadriven insights to teams and their leadership.
  • Significant experience as an Agile Coach across Agile transformations
This role is based in the Wellington area. Some travel may be required.
