An exciting and fulfilling role has opened up within our team of Cyber Security Specialists and as such we are looking to appoint a Vulnerability Manager.


This role will own and be accountable for the service and ensure it supports Te Whatu Ora's overall strategy and goals.

You'll be managing the product throughout its lifecycle, delivering a service offering across Te Whatu Ora as well as day-to-day leadership of the Practice.

This role interfaces closely with the other SecOps disciplines and support functions across Te Whatu Ora.


Joining our Data and Digital team, you will support the Sector Detect, respond and receiver workstream by conducting applied research to discover, evaluate and mitigate new or unknown security vulnerabilities and weaknesses.


You will provide expert advice and guidance to support the adoption of tools and techniques for vulnerability research as well as contributing to the development of organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for vulnerability research and assessment.


Some of your respsonsibilites may include:

  • Performing vulnerability assessments and business impact analysis for medium complexity information
  • Planning and managing vulnerability assessment activities within the organisation
  • Evaluating and selecting, reviewing vulnerability assessment tools and techniques


Additionally, you will identify new and emerging threats and vulnerabilities, take a leading role in external-facing professional activities to facilitate information gathering and set the scope of research work, and engage with stakeholders to communicate results of research and the required response.

You will have strong relationship management skills and experience managing relationships across all levels of an organsation and throughout the Districts.


Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, IT engineering, or related field
  • Knowledge of various vulnerability management tools, technologies and processes
  • A technical understanding of vulnerability and malware analysis and the ability to assess risk
  • Understanding of event management solutions, and automation and orchestration platforms
  • Prior experience working in information security is essential
  • Extensive operational experience with vulnerability management toolsets
  • Demonstrated proactive thought leadership, in implementing vulnerability management strategies for future organisational growth & sustained performance
  • An excellent track record with customer engagement across service, project or product delivery
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills


Previous experience in a Security training environment and knowledge of working in Government or the wider Health Sector would be beneficial for success in this role.
