Advisor Contracts and Asset Management

Permanent Full - Time - Wellington


The Advisor Contracts and Asset Management will focus on supporting manage our supplier base and commercial relationships and our property assets.

They will bring their legal and commercial experience to ensure we manage our commercial relationships and operate our property portfolio effectively and sustainably to enable New Zealand Red Cross to deliver on its goals.


In this role, we are looking for someone who has the experience and capacity to:

Contract Management

  • Advise and support contract generation and management
  • Draft and revise a variety of contracts with customers
  • Review and/or amend contracts
  • Develop procurement tools to enable business users to engage with and manage suppliers
  • Advise on the effective management of suppliers
  • Monitor contracts for risks and issues and advise on mitigation
  • Develop and manage the process for spend analysis
  • Investigate, negotiate and manage centralised procurement contracts to achieve organisational benefits from the supply of services, equipment and materials.
  • Ensure our procurement and contract management approach aligns to our climate strategy

Asset Management

  • Maintain and update the NZRC asset register, including all NZRC owned and leased premises, outlining key features and risks associated with each venue
  • Support the management and maintenance of our property assets
  • Advise on managing risk around property assets
  • Manage leases and our obligations during their lifecycle including ensuring contracts are terminated appropriately
  • Liaise with suppliers to obtain the best price for assets
  • 3+ years' experience in a similar role
  • An understanding of contract development and administration
  • A working knowledge of contract law
  • A good knowledge of asset management methodologies, processes and tools
  • A working knowledge of procurement processes
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent formal qualifications in business management and/or commercial law preferred
  • Experience in ESG supplier management
  • Experience in contractor and supplier relationships
