Job Summary:


The Project Centre Director is a key senior level role and member of the Oceania Leadership Team that has the responsibility to deliver commercial Capital Equipment projects, _manage_ profitably the growth of the Capital Equipment business and manage customer relationships in the Oceania market.


The Project Centre Director will lead a team of Project Managers, Process Engineers and other functions who manage commercial projects from pre-project to installation, securing competitive production solutions, delivering on time within budget in full while maintaining high level of customer satisfaction.


In this self-driven role, you will be responsible for developing and growing the Oceania Project Centre, being the interface within the market to drive a proactive approach with customers.

The focal point will be capital equipment opportunities providing sales support, world class pre-project support and flawless project execution in the local market in alignment with the relevant stakeholders.

This includes pulling together resources/experts from all parts of PSE to secure the highest possible utilisation to win opportunities.

You will be based in Hamilton, New Zealand, and report to the VP Capital Equipment Projects.

What you will do:

As our Project Centre Director you will:

  • Lead the Project Centre organisation from pre-project to handover, securing delivery, quality, customer satisfaction and financial targets in commercial Capital Equipment projects for Processing and Packaging.
  • Develop and maintain dedicated resources for preprojects, project implementation, engineering, site management, installation, and commissioning, along with support functions and according to the needs of the Markets and Customers.
  • Drive component & line engineering excellence in all food categories.
  • Implement best practices for COGS reduction & customer value.
  • Implement Competitiveness Initiatives in the Project Centre.
  • Be the main contact point for Mkt Operations in his/her geographical area of responsibility.
  • Secure efficient utilization of all engineering resources.
  • Proactively use and participate with employees into the Flex Zone (internal and external) aiming for better competitiveness, speed to market and volume fluctuations.
  • Be the bridge between the Project Centre and other PSE functions / organizations, such as Business Streams, Projects CoE / OFCE, Manufacturing & Supply Chain Integration, Portfolio Management.
  • Secure timely financial reports for the project performance, including forecasting, engineering utilization, engineering rates, engineering result.
  • Secure adherence to our global processes and tools in OFCE.
  • Develop talents in the Project Centre under our Future Talent program and targeted recruitments.
  • Develop people with a global mindset, seeing the full global CE Project organisation as their home organisation.
  • Drive WCM initiatives in the Project Centre seeking for continuous improvement and sharing best practices.

We believe you have:

  • A strategic and visionary growth track record delivering projects.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and customer requirements in the industrial capital project management market.
  • New business development experience a proven trackrecord of building up new business opportunities.
  • Capital equipment / technical service experience selling and delivering into the industrial equipment sector.
  • A career in the general management/technical service with P&L experience and a track record of growth.
  • Financial acumen with experience in strategic plan development and execution.
  • Track record of accomplishments leading a project management team.
  • Ability to identify and plan specific actions to improve quality and system performance levels.
  • Ability to identify and develop teams and capabilities with crossborder responsibilities preferred.
  • An Engineering or Science degree (or equivalent) is preferred, but not essential.
