Later this year, Auckland will welcome New Zealand's first Hotel Indigo to the neighbourhood. The "City of Sails" will set the backdrop for this boutique upper-upscale hotel, drawing inspiration from local artists for its design, service, amenities, food and beverage. The 225-room hotel will be part of a mixed-use development in Auckland Central, with stunning views of the city and Auckland's iconic harbour. The new build development will be among Auckland's tallest buildings, maintaining the façade of the original historic building with a new world-class hotel blended elegantly around it.

We create moments of delight inside Hotel Indigo. It's why we're on the lookout for passionate Executive Housekeeper (pre-opening) to help bring Hotel Indigo Auckland to life. This role will set up andlead the Housekeeping department and operations to ensure a memorable guest experience is delivered and hotel policies and procedures established, alwaysfollowing local safety and compliance requirements.

Ideally this role will start at the end of July, subject to the completion of the hotel's construction phases and will transition to an operational role once the property has opened.

A little taste of your day-to-day

  • Being part of this pre-opening team will see you setting this beautiful new hotel up ready to receive its first guests
  • Creating new ways of working, receiving hotel goods, and placing them in location, undertaking our IHG Service Training and inspire your new team to InterContinental's way of working and its brand standards
  • Managing, coaching, and developing a team dedicated to exceptional housekeeping and laundry standards
  • Maintaining and ordering supplies and equipment – whilst minimising waste – in support to our green initiatives
  • Helping refine and prepare budgets that help us maximise profitability
  • Addressing special requests for our guests, VIPs, repeat visitors and Club Members
  • Assisting with deep cleaning projects and occasionally assisting your team during busy periods

What we need from you

  • At least three years' experience in a leading housekeeping position in a hotel environment
  • Bachelor's degree / higher education qualification / equivalent or housekeeping related field is advantageous
  • Experience with leading and developing a team
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge and experience with hotel Property Management Systems
  • Full working rights within New Zealand with no restrictions
