Senior Communications and Education Advisor

The Electoral Commission are looking for 2x Senior Communications and Education Advisors to be a part of this year's biggest event.

You will join the team that increases awareness, understanding and participation in the General Election.
The Communications and Education team delivers clear and engaging information to voters through a range of channels and mediums.

You will be part of a team who are here to promote participation, democracy and is passionate about making peoples voices heard.

These roles will support the delivery of advertising campaigns and for the 2023 General Election.
These are Fixed term roles, until December 2023
Primary deliverables for the Senior Communications and Education Advisor include:

  • Developing, managing, and implementing communications and public information campaigns.
  • Developing programmes, initiatives and resources that increase voter understanding and participation.
  • Developing, managing, and delivering publications and resources for internal and external audiences.
  • Building strong, collaborative, and productive relationships with key stakeholders (internal, external partnerships and providers).
  • Provision of expert communications advice and guidance to internal project teams.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience, at least three years in:
  • Communications, marketing, design or publications.
  • Experience in public sector communications roles at a senior advisor level.
  • Excellent writing skills and experience presenting complex information clearly and simply.
  • Experience engaging with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally, including Māori, Pasifika Peoples, young people, new New Zealanders, and disabled people.
  • Experience in resource and publications design, planning and delivery.
