The Electoral Commission are looking for 2x Communications and Education Advisors to be part of next year's biggest event, helping to increase awareness, understanding and participation in the General Election.

The Communications and Education team delivers clear and engaging information to voters through a range of channels and mediums.

You will be part of a team who are here to promote participation, democracy and is passionate about making peoples voices heard.

These roles will support the delivery of advertising campaigns and for the 2023 General Election.
This is a Fixed term role, until December 2023.
Primary deliverables for the Communications and Education Advisor include:

  • Supporting the implementation of the communications and public information programmes for electoral events, including promoting participation, enrolment, and voting
- supporting the Commission's strategic communications and education plans through:

  • development and delivery of formal and informal education programmes
- building and delivering stakeholder engagement and outreach programmes
- development and delivery of resources
- relationship management with stakeholders and influencers
- maintaining content on the website
- supporting organisational communications including internal communications
- maintaining the Commission's online presence

What you'll need to succeed | Ko ngā mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitū

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience
  • Welldeveloped analytical skills with the ability to formulate and articulate wellreasoned solutions
  • High level of computer literacy, including website management
  • Proven ability to write effectively for internal and external audiences
  • Experience in public sector communications role would be an advantage
  • Proven experience in communications planning and hands on implementation
