About our group and teamTe Poutāhū | Curriculum Centre sets the system-level learning for every child and student.
Working between policy and customer facing functions, there is a significant political, stakeholder and public interest in the high performance of this group and the education curriculum outcomes we seek for New Zealand.
This Senior Advisor role sits within the Government, Commissioning and Ministerials team; consisting of the Manager, two Senior Advisors and three Advisors.
The Senior Advisor has expertise in the Machinery of Government and provides ongoing and consistent coaching and development support - especially in parliamentary processes and the machinery of government - to the Advisors.
Mō tēnei tūranga | About this roleThe Senior Advisor is responsible for commissioning and coordinating:
- Quality and timely Ministerials (correspondence, Official Information Act requests, Parliamentary Questions)
- WholeofTe Poutāhū | Curriculum Centre advice to support cross Ministry requests
- Media responses
- Material to support the Estimates and Annual Review processes.
In any given day the Government, Commissioning and Ministerials team processes correspondence, Official Information Act requests, information requests from Ministers, written and oral parliamentary questions, media queries, select committee questions and Estimates and Annual Review material.
In addition to this BAU work, the team is also responsible for delivering and facilitating workshops and training sessions on the Machinery of Government.
