The opportunity:


A 12-month fixed-term Events Manager position, responsible for planning, executing, and delivering exceptional internal and external events for AIA NZ.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering events of all sizes for a range of audiences including advisers, distribution partners, employees, and the wider community (this includes, but is not limited to, product roadshows, conferences, speaker series, gala dinners, and hosted sporting events)
  • Innovation of events and activations aligned to AIA's brand and purpose, which aim to generate employee engagement, brand, adviser and customer growth, and other business objectives
  • Working closely with the Head of Communications & Corporate Affairs, Event Specialist, wider business, and external suppliers to provide all necessary supporting arrangements (such as guest speakers, venue, accommodation, travel etc.) for events
  • Building effective relationships with other business units, including Executives, to execute both internal and external event requirements
  • Planning, coordinating, and delivering partner programmes, including the analysis of business reporting
  • Competence using and creating event planning processes and templates (including run sheets, budgets, event briefs, communication plans, and health & safety risk assessments)
  • Developing any presentations and related materials required by stakeholders for an event (such as PowerPoint presentations to accompany a speech)
  • Providing mentoring, training, and coaching to our Events Specialist.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 35 years' relevant experience in events, communication, marketing, or a closely related field
  • Capacity to travel domestically for events (outside of standard office hours)
  • Outstanding organisation, project management and multitasking skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Creativity and a passion for health and wellbeing
  • Financial/insurance/professional services' experience (preferred).
