As an Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll work closely with customers, production teams, and external partners to ensure that every design is functional, safe, and delivers real-world performance. While we build from a proven design base, we're always looking for innovative ways to improve, and we need engineers who are excited to challenge norms, propose solutions, and grow their own capabilities in the process.
About the role
As a Design Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of designing and detailing machines and components to meet specifications, leading and supporting every stage of the design. Picture yourself starting the day with investigative site visits, diving into hands-on design, detailing, and evaluating equipment safety, and wrapping up with dynamic reviews alongside key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support Sales with technical solutions and creative concepts to bring ideas to life.
- Information Gathering: Customer communication and potential site visits.
- Design and detail machines and components, ensuring each design meets functionality checks.
- Provide commissioning support, guiding products through to their final stages.
- Contribute to reviews, sharing insights and feedback to drive success.
- Identify and implement design improvements for optimised performance.
- Engage in R&D, exploring new ways to enhance and innovate.
- Work across diverse and customised machine designs, bringing adaptability to each challenge.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics).
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and DraftSight with a deep understanding of design methodologies.
- Familiarity with AS/NZS 4024 safety standards
- Competent with Microsoft 365 tools
