Senior Welder/Fabricator

Our client, Automatic Door & Gates NZ, is a dynamic and growing business specialising in custom gates and CAME automation.  Going strong for over 45 years, this family owned business has a reputation for delivering high quality security solutions to clients with a focus on attention to detail, customer satisfaction and innovative problem solving. The team provides large commercial site solutions through to residential gate automation.

We are looking for a skilled Senior Welder/Fabricator/Installer to join our growing team and support the day-to-day running and operations of the business.  It's a great opportunity for an experienced fabricator to learn new skills especially in installation and servicing.

The role:

This role is varied and offers a great mix of welding and fabrication work as well on-site installation and servicing of automated gate systems. It holds significant potential for the right candidate to develop professionally and grow with the business. We are seeking someone who will hit the ground running adding value to the team and business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Fabricating custom gates, pillars and equipment - we are looking for someone with the skills and initiative to complete design and fabrication to the ADG quality and standard.
• Development and design of new products
• Continually looking at ways processes can be improved
• Site work relating to servicing, call outs, projects and installation of automatic gate systems full training will be provided

Who we need

You'll have an eye for detail with an uncompromising focus on quality and be able to work well in a team and individually, with minimal supervision. We're looking for plenty of initiative and drive. This is an environment where new ideas are welcomed and considered.

Key Skills:

• Have at least 5 years minimum in mild steel engineering and fabrication. Trade qualification preferred but not essential.
• Proficiency in working from CAD drawings and producing a high standard of work.
• Competency in Mild steel Mig gas and gasless welding fabrication skills - aluminium, stainless steel. Tig welding skills are an advantage but not essential.
• Be a safe operator of all standard workshop machinery welder, drill press, bandsaw, lathe, plasma cutter, etc..
• Excellent communication skills
• Hold a Full NZ Drivers License.
