New Zealand Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora Full time NZ$60,000 - NZ$90,000 per year
  • Work from your local Health NZ office – stay connected to your community while delivering nationwide digital health change
  • Be a part of our Digital Services team – shaping the future of digital healthcare for all New Zealanders
  • Permanent, full time role.

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the country's largest employer, delivering universal public healthcare to 5 million New Zealanders.

We provide essential hospital, specialist, and community health services across 80+ locations - from large urban centres to rural towns and remote communities.

Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.

About the Role

As a Workspace Technician, you will be part of the team that keeps Health NZ's digital workspaces running smoothly. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will help deploy, maintain, and support the technology that enables healthcare teams across Aotearoa to do their best work every day. This hands-on role is ideal for someone eager to build their technical skills while gaining exposure to a wide range of IT operations and project activities. You will assist with troubleshooting issues, performing routine operational tasks, and implementing solutions — all while learning from experts and contributing to a secure, reliable, and high-performing digital environment.

In addition, we are also looking for people to join our Digital Services on-call pool. This involves being part of a roster that provides after-hours support as required.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our Digital Operations team sits at the heart of Health NZ's digital world — powering the systems that keep hospitals and health services across the country running smoothly. We're the team behind the technology that clinicians rely on every day, ensuring critical systems stay connected, secure, and reliable. But our impact goes far beyond the hospital walls — we're building the digital foundations that strengthen healthcare for communities across Aotearoa. By driving innovation, setting national standards, and investing in smarter, more resilient infrastructure, we're shaping the future of digital health in New Zealand — and you could be part of it.

About you

You are an enthusiastic and motivated ICT professional who's ready to take the next step in your technical career. You enjoy solving problems, supporting people, and learning from experienced team members in a collaborative environment. With a solid foundation in IT operations, you're eager to grow your technical expertise and make a real impact by helping keep essential digital systems running smoothly.

You will bring:

  • Some hands-on experience deploying, maintaining, and supporting IT services
  • Familiar with Microsoft M365 Platforms
  • At least 1 year performing operational tasks, assisting with troubleshooting, and following technical standards and best practices
  • Exposure to resolving technical issues, implementing solutions, and supporting planning or deployment activities
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn, develop, and expand your technical skills
  • Relevant technical certifications (preferred but not required) — ITIL or service management certifications are a plus
