Christchurch City Holdings Limited (CCHL) is the wholly owned investment arm of Christchurch City Council holding shares in six trading companies, who operate key infrastructure in Christchurch. CCHL is looking for a Corporate Accountant to join their small, friendly team and provide support during a parental leave period.

About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you can expect plenty of variety in this role, being involved in processes from payments and month-end close to Group financial reporting.

Key duties include:

  • Managing finance operations including payroll, accounts payable/receivable and general ledger close
  • Preparing consolidated financial results for the CCHL Group
  • Preparing aspects of interim and annual financial statements in compliance with NZ accounting standards
  • Supporting audits, tax compliance, and insurance renewals
  • Preparing monthly management reporting, budgets, and forecasts

About you:

You'll be a hands-on Accountant who's just as comfortable rolling up your sleeves for day-to-day finance tasks as you are tackling the more complex, senior aspects of the role.

You will also have:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • CA ANZ membership (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong technical accounting skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to work autonomously
