About the Role

This role has evolved to meet the growing needs of this expanding New Zealand owned business, taking on key responsibilities to support their growth strategy. It will take ownership of the day to day financial operations of the New Zealand business, freeing up the Finance Manager to focus on more strategic initiatives. We're looking for a Senior Accountant who is hands-on, eager to grow into leadership, and align with their vibrant and ambitious culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for financial operations, managing accounts payable, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
  • Maintain accurate journals and data across Xero, the CRM and payroll system.
  • Deliver insightful weekly and monthly reports for leadership.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management.
  • Ensure compliance with IRD requirements and support audits.
  • Improve finance systems, automation, and workflows.
  • Collaborate across teams, providing support and oversight.

Who We're Looking For

  • A senior level Accountant with around 3-5 years of experience, either newly or nearly qualified from a CA firm background, or someone progressing through industry with hands-on experience.
  • Strong alignment with the vibrant and ambitious culture, valuing teamwork, passion, and growth.
  • Someone who strives to continually improve processes and systems and make progress.
  • A team player who actively participates in group activities and is enthusiastic about joining in.
  • Ability to strike a good balance between working autonomously and collaborating effectively with the wider team.
