Commercial Project Manager – Construction

RCC Construction is seeking an experienced and confident Commercial Project Manager to lead a high-profile commercial construction project commencing in the coming months.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an established Project Manager to take ownership of a flagship project, or for a seasoned Commercial Site Manager ready to step into a Project Management role.

RCC Construction (Robert Cunningham Construction) is a well-respected, locally owned commercial main contractor with over 30 years' experience delivering high-quality construction projects throughout New Zealand.

Operating within the Tier 2 / Tier 3 space, RCC is financially sound and proud of its strong reputation, long-standing client relationships, and high level of repeat business. The company works with an extensive network of pre-qualified subcontractors and maintains its own in-house demolition and labour teams.

  • RCC Healthcare
  • RCC Remediate

The Role

As Construction Project Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, from planning through to completion. The role requires strong leadership across all core project management disciplines including communication, planning, programming, organisation, and technical execution.

You will bring a practical, hands-on approach with a strong understanding of New Zealand construction methodologies and processes. Experience in commercial and/or medium-density residential projects will be highly regarded.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven New Zealand or Australian construction experience in commercial or large-scale residential projects
  • Strong project programming capability using MS Project
  • Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications (Construction Management or Engineering preferred)
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Solid understanding of consenting processes, CCCs, SSSPs, and subcontractor management
  • Strong contractual knowledge
  • Excellent communication and professional presentation
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors, consultants, and council stakeholders

New Zealand work rights are essential.
