**He aha te mahi? What's the role?**:
The Commercial Manager at Zespri plays a crucial role in managing procurement, supply, and insurance for Zespri's New Zealand Kiwifruit production. This position is pivotal in ensuring the supply of all of NZ Kiwifruit is achieved between Zespri and the NZ Supplier base. You will lead industry negotiations, manage relationships with stakeholders, and represent Zespri in key industry forums and councils. This role requires you to have strong negotiation skills, be politically savvy, and have a deep understanding of the Kiwifruit industry. The Commercial Manager also contributes to Zespri's global supply strategy, ensuring efficient supply chain operations from orchard to customer.

Key accountabilities include;
- Contract development and commercial negotiation: lead the industry negotiation and agreement for the Supply Agreement, as well as leading any contractual changes, commercial initiatives and required adjustments to NZ Grower payments throughout the season.
- Primary source of contact for Suppliers for all NZ Fruit contractual and commercial needs, including leading the ISG (Industry Supplier Group) interface between Zespri and Supplier’s.
- Lead the NZ Commercial team, providing leadership, coaching and support.
- Be the commercial interface on all pre-commercial varieties, including leading the grower payments and commercial negotiations for new varieties to move from pre-commercial to commercial variety.
- Actively provide leadership into the development of the strategic direction of the global supply chain and the current review of the operating model.
- Key Supply Chain link / conduit across Project Horizon, a 3-4 year project involving the largest Operating Model change Zespri has undertaken with a key focus being supply chain systems and processes.
- Support the management of Zespri’s insurance function and be responsible for all insurance policies and claims.
- Provide strong commercial support to the Global Supply Chain team in all aspects of the Zespri NZ Fruit business.

- Tertiary qualification in business or a related field
- 10+ years working in a Corporate / Commercial environment
- Working knowledge and understanding of Insurance
- Ability to manage, collaborate, and influence relationships with key stakeholders in Zespri during commercial negotiations
- Superior relating and networking abilities, building long term relationships, managing conflict, and contributing to a culture underpinned by compliance and empowerment
