Page Macrae Engineering (PME) is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team on a 9-month fixed-term contract, supporting our PMO delivering high value mechanical engineering projects.

Based out of our Mount Maunganui office in the sunny Bay of Plenty, this role offers the opportunity to work on well-defined projects alongside a highly skilled and experienced team.

The Opportunity

You will have end-to-end responsibility for delivering exciting engineering projects — from handover through to close-out — ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

This role suits a delivery-focused Project Manager who enjoys being close to the action, building strong client relationships, and seeing projects through from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

·       Lead, coordinate, mentor and motivate project (site) teams to achieve worldclass outcomes

·       Establish and control project baselines (scope, program, cost, margin)

·       Own client relationships, ensuring clear, proactive, open and professional communication

·       Drive cost, schedule, productivity and margin performance

·       Identify and address risks, issues, and deviations in a proactive manner

·       Ensure compliance with QA standards and HSE obligations

·       Manage variations, progress claims, final accounts, and subcontractor performance

What You'll Bring

·       Proven experience managing engineering, fabrication, or industrial projects

·       Strong capability in planning, cost control, and commercial management

·       Confident stakeholder and client management skills

·       Sound understanding of QA, H&S, and construction/fabrication environments

·       Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

·       Strong communication skills

·       High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability

·       Hold an Engineering or trade tertiary qualification

·       Proficiency in project & IT control systems (e.g. NetSuite or similar, MS Office, MS Projects)

·       NZ Class 1 Driver Licence

You must have current NZ work rights and ideally be available to start 2 February 2026.
