Senior Data Analyst

Kia ora We're looking for a Senior Data Analyst - Finance to join our awesome team based in Newmarket, Auckland.

You are a data guru, and will play a key role in designing and implementing financial data quality controls, monitoring processes, and validation rules using SQL and data profiling techniques. You will translate complex finance requirements such as regulatory reporting, forecasting, and budgeting into technical specifications for data and IT teams.
In addition, you will conduct regular audits and reconciliations to identify and resolve data inconsistencies, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable fixes. The role also involves developing and maintaining documentation including data dictionaries, data lineage maps, and data quality metrics specific to the Finance function.

You've got a strong background in data analysis, and you're adaptable, curious, and ready to roll up your sleeves. You'll have experience in finance and be confident liaising with our finance team. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and love turning data into action.
You're a pro with:
- A degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science or a related field
- Strong SQL and Snowflake skills
- Experience in data analytics/BI roles, preferably in banking or regulated industries
- Awareness of banking data and reporting concepts, including GL/P&L, product/loan-level attributes, arrears/collections, and regulatory expectations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proven experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
