About the role:

Centered in the vibrant city of Christchurch, the luxury Fable Christchurch is looking for an experienced Bar Person to join our F&B operations

As a Bar Person, you will play a crucial role in shaping the guest service experiences in our F&B venue. Your uncompromising commitment to standards will help to drive and deliver exceptional services and create memorable Fable experience for our guests

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that 5-star service is provided at all times to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assisting with transforming the hotel's restaurant and bar into a culinary destination
  • Preparing and planning for functions and shifts
  • Responsible for checking the Bar's paperwork including billing and guest feedback forms.
  • Ensure the correct set, efficient supplies and operating equipment are available for all shifts.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with other departments.
  • Handling guest complaints efficiently & effectively
  • Ensuring the health and safety of guests and team

Role requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of previous experience and success in a similar position
  • Extensive experience with bar operations and cocktail products
  • Excellent command of both verbal and written English
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong knowledge of beverage operations, and inventory control
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Punctual, organised and trustworthy
  • Sound knowledge of POS systems
  • Manager's Certificate essential
  • Flexibility to work rostered shifts full-time including weekends, public holidays, early shifts, and night shifts
  • Current eligibility to work in NZ
