Lead from the front as GM Sales where you'll lead our advertising sales organisation and drive revenue growth. You'll shape strategy, focus on continuing to build a high-performing team, and strengthen our position as a market leader in broadcast and digital advertising.

The opportunity - Te tūranga

In this key leadership role as GM Sales reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, you will be responsible for leading our advertising sales organization and drive revenue growth. This is a senior leadership position will:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies
  • Foster strategic relationships to deliver commercial outcomes
  • Build and lead a high-performing sales team
  • And maintain our reputation as a market leader in broadcast and digital advertising

One of the key focus will be on sales outcomes - you will deliver agreed advertising sales outcomes across all platforms and channels with a focus on growing revenue share of advertising and market share across all advertising revenue streams.

You will provide the strategic direction and focus for the Global agency networks, Direct, Independent agencies and Australian business through the development of strategic relationships

In this role you will focus on driving commercialisation by understanding the changing digital media landscape and international trends to develop and build a capability that delivers and monetises TVNZs platforms and assets

To be successful in this role, we require the following.

  • Proven sales leadership skills and demonstrated ability leading large sales teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Sophisticated internal and external stakeholder management and influencing skills and proven ability to influence and lead teams in an environment of competing interests and limited resources
  • Proven strategic sales delivery and successful revenue generation in multimillion dollar environments, and extensive commercial experience at a strategic level
  • Deep understanding of B2B sales processes, methodologies, and best practices
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive decision-making
  • Strategic negotiation skills
  • Able to represent TVNZ at a senior level externally and gain commitment
  • Excellent communication, and presentation skills
  • Manages time and resources effectively. Works well under pressure
  • Preferred:
  • Industry-specific experience in media and media trading
  • Experience with enterprise or complex sales cycles
  • Track record of successfully entering new segments or launching new products
