About the Role

The Principal Analyst plays a pivotal leadership role in delivering expert guidance and high-quality outputs related to costing and pricing across the New Zealand health system. This position leads the design and implementation of a national activity-based costing programme, collaborating closely with regional costing teams to promote a consistent and cooperative approach.

Key responsibilities include developing the annual work programme and costing methodologies, overseeing national data collection and analytics, enhancing the national cost data platform and reporting capabilities, supporting revenue and pricing functions as needed, and contributing to team development and stakeholder education.

About the Team

The team operates within the Te Whatu Ora Finance business unit and is responsible for managing activity-based costing for Te Whatu Ora Hospital, developing reference costs and pricing for hospital-based services, and overseeing core revenue information management.

About you

You will hold a relevant graduate level qualification or higher, along with at least seven years of experience in activity-based costing and pricing within a healthcare environment, complemented by a solid understanding of health information systems. Your financial and analytical skills will be exceptional, enabling you to assess and interpret complex data with precision. Additionally, you will demonstrate strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, with proven leadership in driving work programmes forward.
