HR Business Partner – 6 month Fixed Term Opportunity

The Employers and Manufacturers Association (EMA) has been lighting the pathway of opportunity for Aotearoa businesses since 1886. In collaboration with our nationwide network including Business NZ, Business Central, Canterbury Employers' Chamber of Commerce, and Business South, we represent and support over 14,500 member companies.

As part of our HR Managed Service, we have two part time fixed-term HR Business Partner opportunities.

The Role

As an HR Business Partner, you will deliver professional HR support that directly impacts New Zealand businesses. You'll build strong, collaborative partnerships with clients, ensuring they achieve business growth through effective HR strategies and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor on employment relations, performance management, and organisational development.
  • Partner with clients to design and implement HR strategies that drive success.
  • Facilitate learning and development initiatives and support workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding.
  • Lead change management efforts and help organisations adapt to new processes and technology.
  • Provide expert advice and hands-on support across the entire employee lifecycle.

What We Are Looking For

  • Highly experienced Generalist HR professional with comprehensive knowledge and expertise in employment relations, performance management, and culture & wellbeing.
  • Background in non-government organisations, particularly within the not-for-profit charitable trust sector, and experience working with Māori/Pacifica support services highly advantageous.
  • Tertiary qualification in HR or a related field.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship management, and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for delivering high-impact workshops.
  • Customer-focused, inclusive, and driven to achieve outstanding results.

Role Details

  • Contract: 6-month fixed term.
  • Hours: Up to 24 hours per week, worked across 3 days or spread over 5 days.
  • Location: Onehunga/Mangere Airport area, office-based role with on-site parking.
  • Start Date: Immediately
