Samsung New Zealand is seeking a dynamic Field Operations Manager on a 12 month fixed term maternity cover contract to lead retail execution, partner with channel stakeholders, and elevate the customer experience across our mobile product categories.

Coordinate and deliver training, merchandising, and field operations across all relevant channels to ensure premium customer experiences and executional excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end retail execution of sales and marketing campaigns, ensuring premium retail standards and compliance.
  • Provide retail execution expertise, both in-field and office-based.
  • Define and manage the Field Merchandising team's scope, including activity prioritisation, routing, call cycles, and compliance with Retail Standards.
  • Manage relationships with outsourced agencies and channel partners covering scheduling, reporting, training, performance, recruitment, and mystery shopping.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and support the Field Merchandising team, including approximately 40% in-field coaching.
  • Produce weekly reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc insights on performance, productivity, competitor activity, and market intelligence.
  • Collaborate with Retail, Training, and Commercial teams to align priorities and execution plans.
  • Maintain executional excellence by monitoring retail investments, handling maintenance requests, security requirements, and POS materials.
  • Support and deliver ad-hoc retail projects and sales training.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in retail implementation and in-store execution.
  • Demonstrated team leadership and people management capability.
  • 5–8 years' experience in a relevant field, ideally within technology, FMCG, or branded consumer environments.
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent communication skills across all business levels.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience managing third-party agencies or outsourced partners.
  • Solid understanding of retail operations, channel development, product presentation, and POS display standards.
