Marine Rigging/Installer Technician Needed.

Auckland Marine Centre is currently on the lookout for a Marine Rigger/Installation technician.

Are you currently working in the automotive industry and looking for a change?

Do you currently love everything about boats and want to get paid to work on them. This is a very rewarding role within the business where we take a plain bare hull & transfer it into our customers dream boat.

We are on the lookout for someone to come into our installation side of the business and carry out full fit outs to the highest standard. Our ideal candidate would be someone with previous experience in marine fit outs. Training can be offered to someone outside of the industry but who has an understanding of basic hand tools.

We are a leading Marine boating dealership In Auckland.  Due to the vast range of boats that we sell no 2 days are the same. From installing a simple engine to a transom of boat to a full fit out on a custom trailer boat. At Auckland Marine Centre we do it all. We can offer on job training if needed.

What does the job involve?

Full installation of outboard engines to new & used boats.

Installation of marine electronics. This includes sounders, VHF radio's, Stereo's, lightning etc.

Set up & testing boats on the water to get the desired performance from the engine & the boat.

Set up & testing of Marine Electronic brands on the water.

Wiring up of 12v systems including switch panels, battery systems etc.

Carrying out re-power of boats.

Some basic mechanical work

What you will need:

A great work attitude with a willing to keep learning.

Be able to work in team environment with a young team.

Able to work overtime where needed.

Be able to think on your own & make decisions where needed.

Need to be tidy in his/her work to carry out the job to a high standard.

Being able to tow boats is a bonus.

This is a full-time position working from 8am to 5pm during the week with overtime and weekend work where needed. Pay rate is dependent of skill level.
