About Us

MasterTech Auto Repairs is a specialist workshop in East Tāmaki focused on underbody rust repair, media/sand blasting, cavity waxing and epoxy/under-body coatings for cars, utes and SUVs. We're growing and looking for a skilled operator to take ownership of the blasting and coating workflow.

The Role

  • Operate abrasive/media blasting equipment to remove rust, paint and contaminants.
  • Mask and prepare vehicles/parts for blasting; protect sensitive areas.
  • Inspect surfaces for correct cleanliness/profile before coating.
  • Mix and apply under-coat/epoxy primers, cavity wax and corrosion-resistant systems using spray equipment.
  • Maintain blasting and spray equipment (blast pot, hoses, nozzles, reclaimers, filters, spray guns).
  • Keep the booth/workshop clean and safe; follow H&S procedures (PPE, respirators, ventilation, noise control).
  • Collaborate with panel/paint team to meet quality and deadlines.
  • Hours: Flexible start/finish; some early/late or occasional weekend work by agreement.

About You

  • Proven experience in abrasive/media blasting (automotive, industrial or marine).
  • Hands-on experience applying under-body coatings/epoxy primers using spray guns.
  • High attention to detail and finish quality; able to work to process/spec sheets.
  • Strong safety mindset; comfortable with respirator use and PPE.
  • Physically fit, reliable, organised and able to work independently in a small team.
  • Nice-to-have: forklift licence, fabrication or basic welding, automotive trade background.
