Introduction

Steel & Tube, a proud Kiwi company with over 70 years of history, is on the lookout for a Service Technician to join our Chain & Rigging Auckland team. You'll have a commercial mindset and the ability to strengthen relationships through committed service and support, increasing sales opportunities.

About the Role

As a Service Technician, you'll take the wheel of our mobile workshop, working directly with customers to ensure their lifting and safety equipment meets compliance standards. This is a dynamic, customer-facing role with a mix of hands-on technical work and relationship building. You'll play a vital role in strengthening Steel & Tube's presence across Auckland. 

Key Responsibilities

Conducting on-site testing, repairs, and certification of lifting and height safety equipmentIdentify opportunities with customers to support business growthPromote the mobile testing program to new and existing customersManage customer schedules to ensure regular service and complianceMaintaining accurate customer registers and issuing timely invoicesProvide exceptional customer service and identify opportunities to introduce Steel & Tube's broader product rangeEnsuring safety, quality, and compliance in all processes

What We're Looking For

Ideally, you'll be mechanically minded with practical experience in a similar fieldAbility to identify new opportunities with existing and new customersOrganised and self-driven: Ability to work independentlyCustomer-focused: A proven ability to build strong relationships and deliver top-notch serviceHealth and fitness: This role involves physical activity, so you should be in good health with no ongoing injuriesTechnical aptitude: Knowledge of safety and lifting equipment is a plus, but full training is provided. 

Required Certifications (or willingness to obtain):

Height Safety CertificationFirst Aid CertificateCurrent NZ Driver's Licence  - essential
