Join our team for a 10-month secondment/Fixed-term until 20th of December 2026. The role will start on the 3rd of February 2026.
Mō tēnei tūranga - about the role
Reporting to the Community Risk Manager, the Advisor, Community Readiness and Recovery, role is focused on supporting the delivery of our readiness and recovery functions by establishing and maintaining key networks within the community, in addition to supporting our brigades and wider business to deliver readiness and recovery programmes in a more targeted and effective manner. This includes:
- Improve recovery and readiness capability within the brigades and the Group Managers to support the overall delivery of their strategy.
- Utilising and analysing data to make evidence-based and informed delivery decisions.
- Undertaking the delivery of readiness and recovery initiatives in line with programmes of work.
Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you'll bring to the role:
This role will require you to proactively build and maintain strong relationships with key community stakeholders, iwi, and tangata whenua to foster collaboration and trust. With a sound understanding of community needs, identify, assess, and monitor risks to develop readiness capabilities that mitigate potential impacts.
In addition, you will provide valuable support to the Community Risk Manager in the development and implementation of recovery initiatives, ensuring that strategies are responsive, effective, and aligned with the needs of the communities we serve.
To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will:
- Have a proven ability to plan and deliver information and educational programmes to a wide range of audiences.
- Confidence in using the MS Office suite of applications, i.e. Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- An ability to convey complex and technical information to a range of audiences.
- Establish and maintain credibility across the organisation with partners and communities of interest.
- Clean Full Driver's Licence.
Some after-hours and weekend work will be required
We are looking for an agile person who is happy working from the office some days or some days be on the road, or out and about in the community. We'll supply you with a vehicle, cell phone and the tools necessary to get your work done. After hours' work may be required.
