We’re looking for a Community Programmes & PR Advisor to join our team here in Aotearoa reporting to our Head of Public Relations, Media & Community.

Every year we donate more than $7 million in food, funding and local sponsorship to our communities. Joining our team you’ll take accountability for supporting the end-to-end delivery, execution and communications of community propositions and programmes within the Woolworths NZ business.

About the Role | Mō te Tūranga

Working as part of the communications team with a particular focus on the successful development and delivery of our community programmes and relationships with our community partners. You will also support the communication of these community food waste and food rescue initiatives and work with the wider Woolworths NZ Communications team as required.

Responsible for the Following

Community Programmes

Support the delivery of community plans in line with the Annual Operating Plan for Woolworths NZ and Woolworths Group that drive relevant brand and reputational outcomes.

Support the end-to-end delivery of community activity

Support the Community Programmes and PR Manager Manager in the management of community partners and programmes.

Support the measurements the effectiveness of community activity and communicate to media and internal/external stakeholders.

Manage the effective reporting of charity activity and administration.

Public Relations

Support the delivery of communications plans as developed by the Head of Public Relations, Media and Community.

Contributing to day to day media relations in the press office;
Establishing and developing relationships with key media outlets relevant to the success of brand PR and community activity

Drafting media responses relevant to consumer PR and community activity

Participate in weekend on-call roster to support the Communications team - this would be a one in four weekend roster.

About You | Mōu

Experience in, understanding of the community and charity landscape in NZ

Experience in or understanding of the New Zealand media landscape

Essential Experience

2+ years experience within the community, sponsorship and public relations related roles

Strong writing skills

Highly organised with excellent communication skills

Prepared to work under pressure to tight deadlines

Role Specific Requirements

Some travel may be required to help support and deliver media relations strategies

Flexibility in working hours to ensure delivery of proactive programs and on call out of hours to help manage media enquiries as part of the roster
