Job Description

Assistant Accountant

Location: Mt Wellington, Auckland

Part-time | Fixed term | Hybrid

This is a 12-month fixed term opportunity covering maternity leave. Work will be part-time at 30 hours a week.

About the role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Accountant to join our team at our Mt Wellington based office. In this role, you will provide support to the accounting department by performing various accounting tasks and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping.

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including data entry, invoice processing, and reconciliations
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports
  • Perform data entry and bookkeeping tasks using accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and files

Qualifications

About You:

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong data entry and bookkeeping skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities
  • Highly organized and efficient in managing multiple tasks
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance-related role (preferred)
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices (e.g., accounts payable/receivable, payroll, financial reporting)
