**The Role**

The assistant Accountant will report directly to the Finance Manager and be a key member of a finance team of seven. This role will have responsibility for the following:

- Assist with the preparation of the monthly management accounts to trial balance
- Prepare accruals, stock journals, prepayments and ensure income recognition is accounted for correctly each month
- Maintain the Fixed assets register and post capital related month end journals (including additions, disposals and depreciation)
- Work with the finance manager to complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Take ownership of the banking responsibilities including uploading and checking all payment runs, part authorisation of payment runs and payment of payroll & IRD liabilities
- Maintain cashflow models
- Assist with the improvement of the quality & frequency of internal reporting capability
- Ensure all IRD responsibilities are met
- Work with the companies external Accountants in Aus and NZ to ensure all statutory reporting and tax requirements are met
- Contribute to continuous improvement in the finance department
- Act as a backup for payroll processing
- Other ad hoc duties as required
