Shape the future of your city's buildings and community spaces

Join a forward-thinking public organisation shaping community spaces and civic facilities. As Portfolio Lead – Buildings, you'll coordinate a program of building projects, ensuring they're well-prioritised, efficiently delivered, and aligned with long-term goals.

You'll provide leadership through coordination and influence, guiding external project managers and consultants to achieve shared outcomes. This role suits an experienced project or programme manager ready to step into a broader, portfolio-level position.

What you'll do

  • Provide strategic oversight of building-related capital works.
  • Manage delivery performance, risk, and reporting in line with EPMO frameworks.
  • Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Support continuous improvement in how projects are planned and delivered.

What you'll bring

  • 7–10 years' experience in programme, portfolio, or senior project delivery.
  • Strong procurement and contract management skills (NZS 3910 preferred).
  • Background in capital works or building infrastructure projects, ideally within the public sector.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, risk, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • New Zealand experience preferred, with strong knowledge of local frameworks and practices.
