The Role

We're looking for an experienced, customer-focused Full-Time Checkout Supervisor to join our Checkouts team. Reporting to the Checkouts Manager, you'll play a key role in the smooth day-to-day running of the front end, supporting and guiding our Checkout Operators to deliver outstanding service every time.

This is a hands-on role on the shop floor, leading by example and keeping checkout operations running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the Checkout team during your shifts
  • Ensure customers receive friendly, efficient service at all times
  • Handle customer queries, concerns and complaints professionally
  • Coordinate breaks and manage labour to match customer flow
  • Train, coach and support new and existing team members
  • Complete end-of-day and evening close procedures for Checkouts
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, presentation, food safety and health & safety

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous supermarket checkout experience – essential
  • Previous Checkout Supervisor / 2IC experience – strongly preferred, or extensive Checkout Operator experience and ready for the next step
  • Strong customer service skills and a calm, friendly manner
  • The ability to work at pace while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Confidence in leading a team and giving clear direction
  • Reliability, good communication skills and a positive, "can-do" attitude

Hours & Availability

  • Full-time position (approximately 35–40 hours per week)
  • Includes evening shifts with finishes up to 9pm
  • We're open to discussing specific days and hours with the right candidate
