Position Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented Territory Sales Manager to join Bovonic. This role is responsible for securing new customers, driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and developing strong relationships with, farmers, dealers, and dairy industry partners. While the position is remote, it requires regular travel, including multiple nights away from home each month, to meet customers, attend events, and support field activities.

The ideal candidate combines strong dairy understanding with a hunter-style sales drive and the ability to close deals consistently.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Proactively prospect, engage, and convert new customers within the Canterbury and Southland regions.
  • Maintain a full sales pipeline and manage all stages of the sales cycle, from lead generation to closing sales.
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets with a strong focus on performance and results.
  • Create and execute territory growth strategies built around customer needs, competitive insights, and seasonal demand.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Develop long-term partnerships through exceptional customer service, technical insight, and ongoing support.
  • Maintain detailed customer records, interactions, and sales progress using CRM tools.

Field Travel & Remote Work

  • Travel frequently for customer meetings, farm visits, field days, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Manage a remote schedule effectively to maximise field time and customer contact.
  • Participate in virtual training, internal meetings, and team sales reviews.

Market Expertise

  • Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, product performance, and customer challenges.
  • Provide market feedback to internal teams and help shape product positioning and sales strategies.
  • Support educational events, demos, and partner activities to promote product adoption.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2–5+ years of sales experience within the dairy industry with a proven track record of hitting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong knowledge of dairy farming operations.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong closing skills and a competitive, sales-driven mindset.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment and managing time effectively.
  • Proficient with CRM platforms, digital communication tools, and virtual meeting software.

Preferred

  • Existing customer network within the agricultural sector.
  • Experience selling ag-tech, and knowledge of mastitis.
