We are seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join a leading retail business for a 12-month fixed-term position focused on project delivery. In this role, you will collaborate with multiple teams to extend the SQL data warehouse, enhance reporting capabilities, and develop robust dashboards that provide clear, actionable insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build enhancements to tabular models using SSAS Tabular, Power BI, and Azure Analysis Services.
  • Create and optimize ETL processes in SSIS and SQL.
  • Build dashboards and reports in Power BI and SSRS using data from APIs and Analysis Services.
  • Analyze large datasets to support operational and commercial decisions.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Monitor model performance and improve reporting reliability.
  • Support the transition of BI knowledge to internal teams at the end of the term.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in BI development - ideally within retail or commercial environments.
  • Advanced SQL skills with strong experience in working with data warehouses.
  • Proven ability to design and manage SSAS Tabular models and write DAX.
  • Proficiency in building within Power BI Desktop and publishing to Power BI Service.
  • Solid understanding of ETL pipelines and hands-on experience with SSIS.
  • Familiarity with Azure BI tools.
  • Ability to work independently and liaise effectively across functions.
