Accommodation Manager – Part-Time

We are seeking a mature, reliable Queenstown local to oversee a couple of accommodation houses used by Japanese interns. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, proactive, and enjoys maintaining a tidy and welcoming living environment. The role is not live-in.

About the Role

As our Accommodation Manager, you will ensure the smooth running of intern housing, support residents when needed, and maintain consistent standards across the properties. This is a flexible role with low weekly hours that would suit someone with strong communication and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness standards in shared areas (bathrooms, kitchens, lounges, outdoor spaces)
  • Prepare rooms for new arrivals, including washing bedding and organising spaces
  • Ensure departing residents leave rooms clean, empty, and ready for the next occupant
  • Manage check-ins (2pm) and check-outs (10am), mainly weekends
  • Provide Wi-Fi access to new residents
  • Update and oversee weekly cleaning rosters and ensure tasks are completed
  • Arrange trades for maintenance when required (plumber, electrician, gardener, etc.)
  • Monitor and manage appropriate use of air-conditioning
  • Administer WhatsApp house groups (add/remove residents)
  • Implement lost-key procedure (residents replace their own keys)
  • Uphold the no-drug/illegal substances policy across all houses
  • Restock cleaning supplies when needed
  • Oversee rubbish and recycling in line with council requirements
  • Conduct room inspections

  • A Queenstown resident
  • A mature and responsible communicator
  • Available 4–10 hours per week
  • Friendly, organised, and confident communicating with international residents
  • Someone who takes pride in cleanliness, order, and quality living environments
