Mō te tūnga | About the role
As a Staff Welfare Coordinator, you'll work closely with Regional Leadership Teams across all business functions to ensure staff facing personal or work-related challenges have access to the right welfare services and support.
In this role, you will provide proactive oversight and responsive care as part of a wider national team to ensure consistent practice. You will monitor incidents, identify cases that need welfare intervention, and make sure employees affected by accidents, assaults, or potentially traumatic events, receive the assistance they're entitled to. You will deliver short-term practical and psychosocial support, manage longer-term follow-up for high-need cases, and liaise with internal teams and external providers to achieve the best outcomes for staff.
Beyond case management, you will play a key role in promoting wellbeing by organising health promotion activities and delivering regular training sessions that help build resilience and support a positive workplace culture.

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Critical Incident Response expertise, experience providing support during high-pressure situations and a strong understanding of psychological first aid principles.
- Facilitation experience, proven ability to deliver health promotion programmes and workshops to a variety of audiences.
- Exceptional communication skills, clear, confident, and professional in both written and verbal communication.
- Self-management and resilience, highly motivated, organised, and able to work independently and as part of a wider national team, while maintaining composure under pressure.
- A high level of attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, reporting, and case management.
A current Full New Zealand Driver Licence and the ability to travel regularly to sites across the lower North Island is also required for this role.

As part of this role, you will have access to regular external professional supervision to support your own mental health and resilience.
The starting point of the salary range begins at $95,080 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
