Homelessness Coordination Kamahi at DCM

Are you ready to be part of a transformative initiative addressing chronic homelessness in Wellington? We are seeking a Kamahi who can work collaboratively and creatively alongside the Coordination Lead to help deliver a new multi-agency coordination service. This role would be a fixed-term contract of approximately 10-11 months.

Downtown Community Ministry, in partnership with Wellington City Council, Wellington City Mission, and He Herenga Kura are coming together to create a sector-led, coordinated approach to improving outcomes for Whānau experiencing chronic homelessness in Wellington. Through strengthening cross-agency collaboration, strategic planning, collective resourcing, shared leadership, and systemic advocacy we hope to see the number of people rough sleeping in our city reduce as people are supported into permanent housing and achieving their personal goals and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

· Management of data in DCM client management system

· Helping to organise and facilitate multi-disciplinary planning forums

· Utilising data to present themes, successes and barriers to support new approaches and advocate to key stakeholders

· Champion culturally responsive approaches, especially for Māori and Pacific communities.

· Liaise with key workers and partner agencies to ensure that the service is responsive to needs of frontline staff and Whānau

You bring:


•     Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate with sector partners and frontline staff


•      Creativity and initiative


•      Experience working with data to gather insights and create stories for advocacy.


•      Passion and drive to see people have access to safe, sustainable housing


•      Computer literacy and ability to navigate multiple administrative software channels


•      Commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
