Chefs New Zealand Ltd is a large international airline catering business.  In New Zealand we have facilities at the
airports in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown and we service
the majority of airlines operating in New Zealand.

We are
looking for a suitably qualified and experienced person to join our Wellington
team as Transport Coordinator.  This is a
full-time permanent position reporting to the Senior Transport Coordinator.

The
Transport Coordinator is responsible for all delivery activities in our
business including supervising the day-to-day work of transport drivers and
guiders who deliver our products to the aircraft.  You will be:

  • rostering
    staff to meet workload and budget;
  • allocating
    staff to tasks throughout the day;
  • coordinating
    with other departments to ensure products are ready for delivery;
  • coordinating
    with the airlines to manage any schedule or product changes;
  • ensuring
    compliance with internal, airport, and customer processes;
  • maintaining
    health and safety and vehicle safety processes;
  • carrying
    out training and performance checks for all transport staff;
  • ensuring
    food safety and food quality standards are maintained for products under your
    control.

The
position works to a roster that covers seven days a week.  The roster rotates to allow for changing days
off.  The roster may change seasonally
but typically is for an 8-hour day, five days a week.  The position is guaranteed 80 hours a
fortnight.

Applicants
will ideally have a tertiary qualification in supervision or management at
level 5 (diploma) or higher.  They will
have at least two years' experience in a similar business where on-time
delivery in a highly regulated industry is critical.  The candidate will have well-developed
English language skills in both verbal and written formats as there is frequent
radio and phone communication and regular report writing.

All
candidates will be required to complete a criminal convictions check.  Prior or pending convictions for dishonesty,
drug or alcohol, violence, or driving offences will exclude any candidate from
selection.

The
candidate will be able to lift up to 20 kg, and hold a Class 2 driver license
and operate a manual gearbox heavy vehicle as you may have to drive airside
occasionally.

This role
is salaried in a range between $72,000 and $75,000 per annum. Overtime may be
required and is paid at the rate equal to (salary / 2080).
