What we are looking for:

We are looking for an experienced Chef to work at Lakes District Hospital, Queenstown. This is a Permanent Part-Time role, working a minimum of 17 hours per week specifically over weekends. There is also an opportunity to work an additional 21 hours per week as a kitchen assistant.

What will you be doing?

  • You will be responsible for preparing, cooking and serving quality menu items for the hospital staff.
  • You will be establishing and maintaining quality control, and assisting with ordering and menu development.
  • In addition, you will be assisting with general kitchen and cleaning duties.
  • Providing cover for annual and sick leave (as and when required)

Our Ideal Candidate?

  • Will have experience with Asian Cuisine as a bonus
  • Will be hardworking, reliable and have a friendly and positive attitude.
  • Will have experience working as a chef in a commercial kitchen.
  • Will hold a food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 & 168) or be happy to train for one.
  • Will thrive under pressure and be a team player.
  • Will have knowledge of temperature procedures and can work to timeframes.
  • Will have superior customer service skills but most importantly will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
