About the business
My client is a vertically integrated, design-led Australian owned homewares business with a footprint in over 35 international markets and a rapidly growing annual turnover already exceeding half a billion AUD.
From concept and manufacturing through to retail partnerships, the business controls its entire value chain – allowing it to innovate quickly, deliver quality at scale, and build long-term customer relationships across both independent retailers and major national accounts.
With a lean, highly capable commercial team and huge growth potential in the New Zealand market, the business is now seeking a Senior National Account Manager to lead its retail channel and position the brand for its next phase of expansion.
The opportunity
This is a highly autonomous, strategic commercial role where you'll take full ownership of the New Zealand retail customer base in both the independent and major national retailers.
You'll shape channel strategy, build and deepen key account partnerships, drive revenue growth, and ensure the NZ business continues to perform as a strong, sustainable contributor to the wider group.
For the right person, this role offers a clear progression pathway to a senior leadership role in the mid term.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute the NZ retail strategy across major and independent channels.
- Manage national key accounts and negotiate at a senior commercial level.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities across the homewares category.
- Partner with marketing, supply chain, and global leadership to deliver channel excellence.
- Provide market insights and commercial leadership to support strategic growth.
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, and performance reporting for the NZ retail portfolio.
About you
You're a proven commercial leader with a strong track record managing major and independent retail accounts in New Zealand. You understand how to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution and have the commercial acumen to grow profitable partnerships in a competitive category.
You'll also bring:
- Proven experience in FMCG, consumer goods, or homewares.
- Strong retail account management and negotiation skills.
