Key Account Manager
to take ownership of our most significant national fleet partnerships. This is a senior, high-impact role suited to an experienced professional who thrives on autonomy, strategic relationship building, and delivering real commercial results.

About The Role
As the Key Account Manager for Mercedes-Benz Vans, you will be the primary champion for our largest fleet customers — influencing their vehicle strategy, shaping long-term partnerships, and driving Mercedes-Benz's Vans success across New Zealand's commercial vehicle market.

You'll work at a national level, managing multi-site accounts and engaging directly with senior decision-makers across different corporate sectors.

What You'll Do
Strategic Client Leadership

  • Build, deepen, and retain relationships with key national fleet operators and high-value corporate clients.
  • Engage with senior executives to understand business models, operational challenges, and long-term growth plans.
  • Develop tailored proposals, fleet strategies, and renewal frameworks that strengthen customer loyalty and secure future business.
  • Represent the Mercedes-Benz Vans brand with executive presence, confidence, and professionalism.

Commercial Strategy & Growth

  • Own and deliver account strategies aligned to national volume, profitability, and brand objectives.
  • Proactively identify new revenue streams across existing accounts and market sectors.
  • Analyse fleet behaviour, market changes, and competitor activity to inform commercial decisions.
  • Shape partnership structures, pricing discussions, and contract negotiations with high-level stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Influence

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, product planning, and aftersales teams to deliver seamless, premium client experiences.
  • Lead internal collaboration to ensure consistent communication, aftersales support, and long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Act as the "voice of the customer," providing insights to guide product strategy and operational improvements.

What You Bring

  • Significant experience in Key Account Management, Fleet Sales, B2B Relationship Management, or a comparable strategic role.
  • A proven history of managing large, complex accounts with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen and confidence working with high-value contracts and long-term agreements.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing capabilities.
  • A proactive, solutions-driven mindset and the ability to balance strategy with hands-on delivery.
