Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
This senior role leads retail strategy for Aotearoa and directly manages the relationship with a major national retailer, while overseeing two National Key Account Managers responsible for other key accounts. It's a rare opportunity to shape commercial outcomes, lead high-performing people, and bring analytical, market-led thinking to a business in positive rebuild mode.
Suited to someone who can combine strategic direction with confident retail execution — and who gets excited about improving performance, not just maintaining it.
Ngā kawenga | What You'll Be Doing
- Own and manage the national relationship with one of NZ's largest retail chains
- Lead and coach two National Key Account Managers across the retail channel
- Develop and execute joint business plans, promotional calendars, and pricing strategies
- Use data-driven insights to influence retail performance and improve forecasting accuracy
- Collaborate across supply chain, marketing, finance, and operations to ensure delivery on commercial targets
- Represent the NZ team in ANZ strategic conversations
Mōhou ake | About You
This role is suited to someone who's commercially sharp, collaborative, and forward-thinking. You'll be comfortable in a high-expectation, performance-led environment — and equally confident stepping above the day-to-day to think long-term.
We're particularly interested in candidates who:
- Have experience in National or Key Account Management within retail (consumer durables, appliances, electronics, or FMCG ideal)
- Can bring clear examples of sales strategy development and business development success
- Are confident leading experienced senior salespeople
- Understand major NZ retail players such as Noel Leeming, Harvey Norman or Narta (direct experience with them is a plus)
- Are comfortable with reporting and commercial analysis
- Can hold their own in conversations with ANZ-level leadership
- Are resilient, driven, and solutions-focused
