About the Role

As Business Case Lead within our Infrastructure and Investment Group (IIG), you will lead the planning, development, and assurance of business cases for infrastructure enabled investments across the Te Waipounamu Region. This role is critical to ensuring alignment with Health NZ and IIG governance requirements, while driving early-stage investment planning and providing expert guidance to enhance the quality and strategic impact of business case submissions.

You'll collaborate with delivery and asset management teams, financial analysts, and stakeholders to produce high-quality, persuasive business cases that support infrastructure decisions and long-term health outcomes.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The IIG team are focused on delivering high-impact infrastructure investments that support the transformation of New Zealand's health system. Giving support, oversight and assurance across projects and programmes, they understand that safe, fit for purpose health facilities, sites and equipment are essential for a well-functioning health system that improves the health of all New Zealanders.

About you

You're a detail oriented professional with a background in infrastructure planning, financial analysis, and business case development. You approach your work with care and precision, ensuring that every recommendation is backed by sound evidence and aligned with strategic goals. You're comfortable working independently and collaboratively, and you know how to engage with stakeholders to gather insights, build consensus, and deliver high-quality documentation.

You take pride in producing work that is clear, accurate, and impactful. Whether you're analysing data, writing proposals, or coordinating across teams, you bring a steady and reliable approach that supports good decision making and long-term value. You're motivated by the opportunity to contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects that improve health outcomes for communities across Aotearoa.

You will bring:

• A bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in business case writing, financial analysis, or infrastructure planning.
• Strong background in business analysis including multi-criteria and cost-benefit analysis.
• Proven ability to develop persuasive business cases aligned with strategic and governance requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling documents.
