What You Will Do
  • You will report to the Senior Manager, HR, as part of the local HR Team. You will develop excellent business partnering relationships with the CHCEC management team, all leaders and employees, along with maintaining positive working relationships with union organisers, delegates, and international colleagues.
  • You will partner with leaders and employees in your portfolio to understand their business needs and to deliver HR advice, solutions and coaching across the entire employee lifecycle. While this is an HR partnering role that will work across all disciplines including compensation and benefits, Organisational development and talent acquisition within the HR function you will provide specialist IR/ER expertise to the business.
  • As an IR/ER Expert, you will be responsible for providing advice and for building capability across the business. You will bring your experience and insights, expertise, and strategic problem-solving skills to the role. You will provide training and coaching to build confidence, self-insight, and capability for leaders to build inclusive teams and address and manage ER issues directly.
  • You will maintain strong working relationships with our unions and case manage any escalated complex ER cases. Ideally you will be experienced in collective bargaining and take a lead role, managing any variations to the Collective Agreements.
  • You will lead projects, working groups, and policy and programme development locally and across APAC in line with our focus on building positive engagement and working relationships and delivering on our people priorities. As well as monitoring legislative updates and keeping all policies current and fit for purpose.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree with a specialisation in a human resource related field.
  • Strong working knowledge and interpretation of New Zealand employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Experienced practitioner in Employment Relations including case management, dispute resolution, policy development, workplace investigations, disciplinary processes, negotiations, mediations, and performance management.
  • Experience in working with HRIS / ERP systems.
  • Experience in Job Analysis, Evaluation and Remuneration.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Demonstrated HR functional expertise at a senior HR level with progressively increased responsibility.
  • Industrial Relations experience is preferred, including collective bargaining and interpretation of Collective Agreements.
  • Strength in business process improvement and continuous improvement.
  • Responsive and engaged HR Partner who establishes professional creditability and trusted relationships to get the best people outcomes.
  • Strong project and programme management skills and experience. Self-driven, agile, customer and results centric approach towards project delivery.
  • Data literacy and digital agility along with strong administration skills is essential.
