This is an opportunity to lead a growing business providing an essential service for resilient communities across the Bay of Plenty and Waikato from Gisborne to Hamilton, Rotorua to Colville, and everywhere in between.

Bob's Gas is a trusted brand with almost 30 years of local trading history and 5 years into a significant growth trajectory. With about 35 staff over 3 sites, the husband and wife owners foster a family-focused and fun team culture.

Bob's Gas operates primarily as a bottled gas supplier but occupies a unique position in the industry with a diversified business model. This creates a challenging and rewarding opportunity to deliver real value in the Health, Hospitality, Engineering and Energy sectors.

As the GM, reporting to the MD, you will be responsible for health and safety, team support and development, day to day operations, compliance, optimising processes and systems, informing and executing strategy, and financial management.

The owners are focused on finding a "great fit", not just qualifications or industry experience.

Your focus will include:

  • Industry leading, practical health and safety enabling the team to get the job done
  • Delivering on our values throughout the business, ensuring they are abundantly clear to our team, customers and supply partners
  • Leveraging technology to develop fit-for-purpose systems and processes for planning, risk management and delivery
  • Understanding who we are, our place in the market, and why we do what we do, beyond profit

You will have:

  • An aptitude for rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in alongside our team to get the job done, understand the business well, and identify areas of opportunity and improvement
  • Commitment to positive, fun and inclusive team culture as the key contributor to safe, effective and efficient operations
  • Financial acumen including budgeting, cashflow management, and analysis to make resource allocation decisions that positively impact our communities and the bottom line
  • An eagle eye for detail and efficiency, thriving on complexity, without sacrificing our values

The role is based in Tauranga with regular regional travel working closely with the owners to execute business strategy. All the tools you will need including a late model vehicle are provided. ·
