With recent expansion into kitchen renovations and a growing pipeline of work, we're entering an exciting phase of development. To support this growth, we're seeking a General Manager who can lead our people, sharpen our operations, and ensure every project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
The OpportunityThis is a pivotal leadership role focused on staff management, project scheduling, and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll oversee all departments — from sales and design to operations and delivery — ensuring the business runs smoothly, profitably, and with a strong, positive culture.
You'll work closely with the Operations Manager and Sales Coordinator to align people, systems, and processes, with a particular focus on:
- Staff performance and engagement
- Precise scheduling and workflow management
- Project profitability and client satisfaction
You'll also play a key role in shaping the company's future, helping to embed new systems and prepare for regional expansion.
Key Responsibilities· Lead and support Sales, Design, and Operations teams to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
· Manage staff performance, development, and recruitment to build a strong, accountable team.
· Oversee and refine project scheduling to ensure timely, efficient delivery across all jobs.
· Drive operational improvements across workflow, communication, and resource allocation.
· Monitor and report on key metrics (GP%, NP%, productivity, client satisfaction).
· Collaborate with the Managing Director on strategic planning and growth initiatives.
· Maintain a visible leadership presence across office and site environments.
· Ensure financial targets are met through effective budgeting and cost control.
About YouYou're a commercially minded leader with a sharp eye for detail and a genuine passion for team development. You bring structure, clarity, and a hands-on approach to leadership, ensuring projects run smoothly and staff are supported to perform at their best.
· Proven experience in business or operations management (ideally in construction, renovation, or trades).
· Strong understanding of project scheduling and workflow optimisation.
· Confidence managing staff performance, development, and recruitment.
· Financial acumen, particularly around margins, cost control, and forecasting.
· A systems-driven mindset with experience embedding new processes and tools.
· Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to unite teams under shared goals.
· A practical, grounded approach with presence in both office and site environments.
