Overview
We are now seeking an Accounts Receivable Officer to join our Finance team at our Whangārei Campus. This role will suit someone who is highly organised, digitally confident, detail-focused, and approachable, and who enjoys a role with variety, responsibility, and regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
The Accounts Receivable Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely invoicing, receipting, and monitoring of the collection of student and other revenue. A key part of the role is applying consistent debt management practices, while applying consistent debt management practices, while keeping the customer at the centre of the process and professionally managing the recovery of outstanding debt.
This is a hands-on, practical role with genuine variety. You will work closely alongside other kaimahi to support student fee management, in addition to managing invoicing and receivables for other revenue activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Receipting student fees and maintaining accurate debtor records
- Monitoring overdue accounts and applying debt management and escalation processes
- Managing invoicing and revenue collection for other revenue
- Preparing debtor reports and reconciling debtor accounts and related ledger balances
- Supporting audit, reporting, and compliance requirements
- Contributing to improvements in receivables processes and documentation
- This position also requires a willingness to adapt and work collaboratively.
Skills, Experience and Attributes

You will bring:
- Experience in accounts receivable, invoicing, and debt collection
- Strong attention to detail and confidence working with financial systems and Excel
- A friendly, professional communication style
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A practical, solution-focused mindset and willingness to learn
Experience in the education or public sector, or familiarity with TechOne systems, is advantageous but not essential.
