We are discerning about the opportunities we bring to market and pride ourselves on strong systems, sound governance, and disciplined execution.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, transactional accounting role supporting a portfolio of commercial property and related entities. You will work closely with the Commercial Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of core accounting processes while being backed by the wider Classic Group Finance Team.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable (Multi-Entity)

  • Process invoices and progress claims, ensuring approvals align with delegation of authority
  • Reconcile supplier statements and manage aged payables
  • Prepare and process payment runs in line with agreed timelines and policies

Accounts Receivable & Property Accounting

  • Support commercial property rental accounting, including raising tenant invoices and receipting
  • Manage recharges and inter-entity invoicing
  • Monitor aged receivables and follow up outstanding balances
  • Support accurate allocation of receipts across entities and properties

General

  • Assist with month-end processes, reporting, and ad hoc finance tasks

About You

You're an experienced Accounts Officer who enjoys variety, responsibility, and working across multiple entities. You're confident managing your own workload, comfortable with volume and complexity, and take pride in getting the detail right.

You'll bring:

  • 3+ years' experience in an Accounts Officer or similar role
  • Proven experience working across multiple entities or business units
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end AP and AR processes
  • High attention to detail with strong reconciliation skills
  • Confidence working autonomously in a fast-paced environment

Experience with the following will be highly regarded:

  • Xero Accounting software
  • Released and Zahara (or similar invoice management systems)
  • Commercial property, asset-heavy, or professional services environments
  • Strong Excel capability

Why join our team?

  • A varied role for you to evolve and bring value to
  • An energetic, collaborative, and supportive team
  • Professional development and growth opportunities
  • A flexible working environment
  • Birthday leave
  • Discounts when building a home through Classic and through our suppliers
  • EAP Services, volunteer leave, and so much more

And one final thing. Our values—CARE, ONE TEAM, DARING, EXCELLENCE—are the heart and soul of Classic. We're not your ordinary company; we're a tribe of passionate individuals, owned by a couple of everyday kiwi blokes, who love what we do. We believe in making a difference, building dreams, and creating futures. That's Classic.
