Tahu, Gisborne's only beachfront restaurant and bar, is seeking an exceptional Bar Manager to lead our talented team and help us continue delivering extraordinary experiences by the sea.

Located within the stunning Midway Community Hub, Tahu has become a local favourite since opening nearly two years ago — known for its warm service, creative cocktails, and unbeatable ocean views. This is your chance to lead a thriving team in one of the most beautiful settings on the East Coast.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all bar operations to ensure smooth service and exceptional guest experiences.
  • Develop and deliver innovative cocktail menus that complement Tahu's coastal culinary vision.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of bartenders to uphold the highest standards of service.
  • Manage inventory, costs, and operational efficiency across the bar.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head Chef and leadership team to maintain seamless coordination between kitchen and bar.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and energetic team culture that reflects Tahu's values and hospitality ethos.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Bar Manager in a high-quality venue.
  • Current Duty Manager's Certificate.
  • Strong knowledge of mixology, beverage trends, and bar operations.
  • Barista experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining warmth and professionalism.
