Mornington Taphouse are looking for a superstar Bar Manager.... and also Duty Managers.

Mornington Taphouse is a country pub in heart of the city. We operate from 10am- 9pm Sun- Thurs and until 1am Fri and Sat. We are a sports bar with gaming machines, TAB, and often host live music, karaoke and other fun events. We pride ourselves on great customer service and have the best staff and locals in town that are more like family. We are looking for someone with fantastic customer service, uses their initiative, can manage staff and has a passion for hospitality. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you. Must have current Duty Managers certificate and NZ working visa.

Bar Manager roll is full time

Duty Manager roll can be Full time or Part time.

Bar Manager Expectations:

  • Overall responsibility for the bar operation in an establishment.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of beverages to meet set standards.
  • Manage all bar staff- Interview and recruit staff.
  • Identify, develop and maintain establishment policies and procedures.
  • Set policies and maintain standards for food safety in the bar area.
  • Set policies and maintain standards for health & safety at work in the bar area.
  • Ensure all bar equipment and work environments are clean and operational.
  • Oversee the bar display to maximize functionality and attractiveness.
  • Prepare beverage lists.
  • Organize promotional activities.
  • Ensure the relationship between bar staff and other front-of-house staff, as well as kitchen staff, is of a high standard.
  • Training new staff- creating training lists and ensuring Pokies and TAB training is completed
  • Ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained (ordering) and stock rotated.
  • Uphold morale in the bar area.
  • Ensuring the keg room and stock area is clean and tidy
  • Must be available ¾ weekends. A mix of days nights/ weekends.
  • Some marketing and specials on social media
